Nothing is wasted

It’s true that people by human nature look forward to the future. Why is that? I think it’s because innate within us, there’s a hope that things will be better. . a hope for rightness in the world. . a hope for less pain and more joy. This in and of itself is not necessarily wrong.

We can clearly see that this life is not (fully) the way it was meant to be.

We are reminded of this daily as we turn on the news and see another needless murder.

It’s evident when I walk outside in the subfreezing temp to let my dog out and I can’t last 5 minutes. Often I complain— but quickly I’m reminded that some people have to live in this. This is their reality.

When we hear news of old classmates, family members, or celebrities so depressed and hopeless that they take their own life.

ALL of this is a reminder that things are not the way they should be.

As we look forward to a “New Year,” engrossed in that meaning is a hope for better. This improvement/better circumstances/less stress is what we are all looking forward to. For some people, tomorrow (2018. . which is not promised) represents many things:

-a new step in the right direction

-change

-progress

-forgetting what all 2017 did to you.

I pray that you can remember that nothing is wasted. Your hurts from 2017, your triumphs from 2017, your growth, your moments of failure. . God wants to use it all for your good. He is trying to make something beautiful— through you and in you. Will you let Him?

Nothing is wasted.

(Remember when I used to blog often? Those were good times. {May 2016 was my last post?!} I will do better at writing posts- Promise! As always, I’d love to hear from you.)
